First Choice Pediatrics providers specialize in the ABC’s of children. It is only a success story in the end for the children who battle with these problems every day. Our providers join in that battle with the children and parents to confront and overcome these seemingly impossible hurdles in a child’s life.

There is an original theme, if you will, to the patients we see called the ABC clinics.
A stands for asthma and allergy. We do make sure that kids who has asthma or allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis gets monitored appropriately, that we’re not missing any worsening of symptoms. We do see those patients on regular basis. We do offer spirometry which is a test that checks for your lung function and we do recommend doing that for asthma kids at least once a year.
B would stand for behavior which we do have patients who has different behavior conditions including ADHD which stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. For those patients, not only for medication but we would see them and counsel them on regular basis to make sure that the medicines are working and they’re adjusting to the school system well.
C would stand for cholesterol which we do follow obese patients on regular basis too, which obesity is a very big health problem in this country. More than 30% of the population are obese and so we do have materials that we do use to counsel kids whose obese for their weight management. We do have the machine that we can check the fasting cholesterol on site so we would bring them in to check the cholesterol on regular basis too.
The general idea and purpose for the ABC clinics was to communicate to the population we serve that we do specialize in asthma, allergy, ADHD, patients that have diabetes. These are the core competencies of our physicians. We specialize in the common conditions children have.
