Job Summary: Communications Manager
We are seeking a well-versed individual to lead our communications department. The ideal candidate should be a great communicator, multitasker, with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
The individual in this position will be responsible for producing high-quality engaging content for the public and continues to build brand recognition. Other responsibilities also include but are not limited to creating informative content, press releases, seeking Public Relations media opportunities to share our company’s mission and services.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop a marketing communications plan including strategy, goals, budget, and tactics
- Works with the marketing team to create and develop informative content, engaging press releases, newsletters, and related marketing materials that provide a consistent, targeted, and impactful message
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies that will assist in brand awareness, and patient satisfaction.
- Builds and maintains solid partnerships to better develop, coordinate, direct, and facilitate strategic communications designed to meet business goals
- Plans, coordinates, and oversees all public relations activities for patient outreach opportunities through advertising, partnerships, sponsorships, and PR events
- Direct social media team to engage audiences across traditional and new media
- Develops short- and long-term departmental goals and plan initiatives
- Works with the Public Relations Coordinator, Graphic Designer, and leadership to foster new innovative ideas and identify strategies for prospecting new patients
- Directly supervises marketing projects to ensure completion and that all content is to our standard
- Responds to communication-related issues in a timely manner and provides advertising support for internal and external patient outreach
- Gather data, outcomes and prepare reports for management on events, campaigns, promotions, etc. and report PR results quarterly
- Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting our audience and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategies surrounding them
- Thorough understanding of the company’s mission, vision, internal policies and procedures
- Performs additional related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of communication practices and techniques
- Excellent organizational, planning, and coordination skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal presentation, group dynamic and facilitation skills
- Proven experience creating targeted content
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proactive approach in resolving problems and issues
- Familiarity and understanding of social media sites, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
- Experience with editing and design software, i.e., Photoshop and Illustrator (preferred)
- Photography & videography skills for content gathering (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office systems such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in similar role (Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or equivalent
- Minimum of one year in a supervisor, manager, or leadership role
